The start of the new semester is a great time to review ILDS tips with your staff!
Here are a few more tips for ILDS best practices.
Tip #1 - ILDS cannot be used to send correspondence including library notices (e.g. overdue notices). See CARLI's best practice statement on mailing notices.
With the beginning of a new academic year, it is a good time to review a few of the ILDS best practices that have evolved over time.
Tip #1 – Use zip ties to keep the delivery bags securely closed. We continue to receive reports of bags without zip ties showing up open, and a few have shown up open and empty. Please do not pull the zip tie too tight when securing it to the bag or the person opening the bag will have difficulty removing it.
On July 20, 2017, the RAILS and IHLS staff will be attending a Staff Retreat. ILDS will not provide service on that day so that all delivery staff can attend the retreat.
It is time to collect the dates that your location will be closed during May, June, July, and August 2017. Please complete the survey no later than April 7, 2017, so that this information can be shared with the delivery vendor.
If you have questions or concerns regarding ILDS, please contact CARLI Support.
The CARLI office will be closed from Friday December 23 through January 2 and will reopen on January 3. ILDS will not provide delivery service on December 23, December 26, December 30 or January 2. Business will resume on January 3.
CARLI is pleased to announce the addition of American Islamic College (AIC) to the list of ILDS participants. AIC has been added to the ILDS Label/Manifest system, and all documentation on the ILDS website has been updated to include them as a participant. Their official start date was Monday, November 14. Please join us in welcoming American Islamic College to the ILDS community!
If you have any questions or concerns regarding ILDS, please send an email to CARLI support.
The transition to a new delivery vendor will take place on June 30 and July 1. Please make sure that this information is communicated to all appropriate staff in your library.
Beginning the week of December 21, CARLI will be introducing a change to the ILDS paper label. We have added a line under Final Destination at the top of the label to include Community Delivery Partnership (CDP) Delivery Information. When sending an item to a library that receives its delivery as part of a CDP, include the location where delivery is received on the CDP Delivery Information (TO) line.
The CARLI office will be closed from December 24 through January 1. ILDS will not provide delivery service on December 24, December 25, December 31 or January 1. Regular business hours will resume on January 4. CARLI staff will respond to all issues and reports when regular business hours resume. Please send an email to CARLI support or call toll free 866-904-5843 to report any problems or concerns. Callers will have the option to page a tech support staff person to report a system outage or any other serious problem.
