Here are your ILDS Tips for February!
Tip #1 – ILDS is intended for sending library-owned materials between libraries to fulfill interlibrary resource sharing requests. This can include books and journals, photocopies in envelopes, recordings, maps, audio-visual materials, etc. ILDS is not intended to be used for transporting non library materials such as office supplies, furniture, computer equipment, perishables, correspondence between library staff, or inter-campus mail between branches of an institution.
CARLI wants to hear from you regarding the performance of ILDS, so we have created a brief survey. Your feedback is key to the success of the ILDS program. To provide your input, please take a few moments to complete the survey.
The survey, which covers ILDS service during 2024, will remain open until the end of the day on February 21, 2025. We appreciate your feedback.
There will be no ILDS service on Monday, January 20 in observance of Martin Luther King Jr.'s Birthday. The CARLI offices is also closed that day.
Starting the New Year off with a couple ILDS best practices tips for you:
Tip #1 – ILDS cannot be used to send correspondence including library notices (e.g., overdue notices).
Tip #2 – Have you ever received a bag that appears to be properly labeled for another ILDS location? Place the bag with your next day’s outgoing ILDS shipment. The bag will be sent on to the intended destination.

The CARLI office will be closed Tuesday, December 24 through Wednesday, January 1. Regular hours will resume on Thursday, January 2.
The CARLI Office will also be closed in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr.'s birthday on January 20, 2025.

Both CARLI and ILDS will observe holidays on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29 and delivery service will not be provided. Service will resume on Monday, December 2.

Use zip ties to keep the delivery bags securely closed. Please do not pull the zip tie too tight when securing it to the bag or the person opening the bag will have difficulty removing it.
