Watch your ILDS email list for monthly best practice tips! Here are the first two tips that were sent in May and June. We will be adding the tips here in the ILDS news section as they are released.
If you have your own good ideas and procedures please share these with your colleagues through the email list.
Tip #1 – For those of you who are training new staff, this website contains documentation regarding ILDS participants, as well as a step by step ILDS instruction document. Here you can subscribe to the ILDS, and the ILDS-ig listservs. The ILDS listserv is used by CARLI to send out general announcements regarding ILDS, while the ILDS-ig listserv is used by ILDS participants to request delivery bags, and share information regarding delivery with their colleagues.
Tip #2 – Do you need to request delivery bags? The fastest way to do so is to send an email to the ILDS-ig@carli.illinois.edu listserv to request bags. And remember, when you see a request you can fill, share and share alike! If you are not already on this list, you can subscribe at http://illinoisdelivers.net/email-lists. You must subscribe to the list before posting a message to it.
Tip #3 - Do you know what to do with broken/damaged ILDS bags (broken zipper, coming unstitched, torn, etc)? Use your best judgement and when a bag no longer works or is so damaged it won't hold books safely, please discard them.
