The RAILS hub in Chicago has had to cancel delivery for libraries on the CHI-03 route plus NWU, UNI, LUC, HST, and DPU today due to a staff shortage.

If your library receives delivery from RAILS and you don’t know which route you are on, you can look that information up on the L2 website under the member directory by searching for your library.

We are sorry for the inconvenience.

Due to an extreme staff shortage, the RAILS hub in Chicago has had to cancel routes today (November 30, 2021). The Chi-01 and Chi-04 and most of Chi-02 will be cancelled today.  The driver of Chi-03 will make the NWU, UNI, LUC, HST, and DPU stops at the end of his route (eta 12:00-3:00p.m.).

Both CARLI and ILDS will observe holidays on Thursday, November 25 and Friday, November 26 and delivery service will not be provided. Service will resume on Monday, November 30.

It is time once again to collect the dates that our libraries will be closed during the holiday season.  Please complete this survey no later than October 18, 2021, so there is ample time for us to share the information with RAILS and IHLS.

Due to the Labor Day holiday on Monday, September 6 there will be no delivery service and the CARLI office is closed as well

Both RAILS and IHLS have decided to end the quarantine of physical items effective this week.  Therefore, libraries should not have to quarantine ILDS bags or items before sending them through ILDS.

Once the items arrive at their destination, the receiving library should follow their own internal guidelines for quarantining incoming items.

It is time to submit your closure dates for summer 2021! Please complete the survey no later than March 31, 2021, so there is ample time to share this information with our delivery vendors.

If your library will not yet be opted in for delivery during the summer semester, you do not need to fill out the survey.

The ILDS website will be down for maintenance on Sunday, March 7th at 6pm.  The website will be down for approximately 10 minutes.  If you experience any issues with the ILDS website or label system after the maintenance, please send an email to CARLI support at support@carli.illinois.edu.

Based on new quarantine period information from the two library systems, RAILS and IHLS, we are recommending that all ILDS libraries quarantine outgoing items for 24 hours prior to shipping the items through ILDS. The 24-hour period for quarantining items would begin when a patron last touched the item. Items that are in stacks open to patrons should be quarantined for 24 hours prior to being shipped through ILDS. The items for shipment should remain untouched for 24 hours.

It is time once again to collect the dates that your location will be closed during spring break. Please complete the survey no later than January 29 so there is ample time for us to share this information with RAILS and IHLS.

If your library has not opted in for delivery and will not be opting in during the spring semester, you do not need to fill out this survey.
