ILDS Update

CARLI is now collecting library closure dates only for the months of May, June, July, August, November, and December, when many libraries change their schedules for extended periods. We are currently collecting information about upcoming location closures. Please complete the latest closure survey by March 27th. If your location will be closed for any length of time, other than the months we are collecting closure dates, send an email to support@carli.illinois.edu.

ILDS Contacts

In an effort to keep our ILDS contact list up to date, please take some time and look at the list that is posted on the ILDS web site. It is important that we keep this list updated so that you know who to contact in case there are any problems. If you notice any incorrect information, please let us know by sending an email to support@carli.illinois.edu.

Requesting Delivery Supplies

The ilds-ig@carli.illinois.edu listserv that CARLI has established is your best source for requesting delivery supplies. You must subscribe to the list before you can post a message to it though. If you have not already subscribed, you can do so at on the ILDS web site. Please use something similar to "NSL requests 25 small purple bags" for a subject line when posting a supply request to the list. When your request has been filled, send an email back to the list so your colleagues know that you do not need any more supplies.

Damaged ILDS Bags

Please send any damaged ILDS bags to the Illinois State Library (ISL). They will determine whether or not the bags can be repaired or if they will have to be discarded.

ILDS Locations

Finally, please be careful when selecting the final destination for materials. We still receive reports of items being sent to the wrong location because some ILDS codes and school names are similar. It is a best practice to review this with staff regularly, especially if you have turnover in student help.
