ILDS Update—February 8
Routing Materials to Branch Campuses
Argosy University in Chicago, a direct ILDS stop, continues to receive many items that are meant for the Schaumburg campus, which is NOT a direct ILDS stop. If you have items that need to go to Argosy University in Schaumburg, please use the paper routing label to forward them to their regional library system, North Suburban Library System (NSL), with Argosy University – Schaumburg written in as the final destination.
Overdue Notices and Other Communications
We are still receiving reports of overdue notices and other communications being sent via ILDS. Please remember that sending notices via ILDS is not permitted. These notices should be sent through the US Postal Service, as directed by the Illinois State Library. We have been asking sites that receive overdue notices through ILDS to return them to the institution that sent them. Please refer to the CARLI/I-Share Best Practices on Library Notice Distribution document.
Since establishing the new listserv, ILDS-ig, many of you have used it to request bags from your colleagues. The listserv appears to be working well for these requests; however you may want to plan ahead when requesting bags from the list as it will take a minimum of 24 hours for you to receive them. While we don't want to encourage stockpiling supplies, we hope that patterns of use are beginning to emerge in your library and that you can make requests to ILDS-ig far enough in advance to ensure an adequate supply of bags.
Please continue to send your comments and suggestions to support@carli.illinois.edu. Your feedback is appreciated!
